It's a..................................... SURPRISE!!

Disclaimer: This is not Nicole's belly. Or her hands.
This blog post is written by Issac.

Today Nicole and I visited the lady-doctor's office and the General Electric ultrasound machine showed us blurry and bubbly images of our unborn baby who is still due in September. The size and measurement of the baby are right on schedule and the heartbeat was 143 beats per minute. It was beautiful and Nicole did great.

Although I was positive I taught myself how to read ultrasounds, I couldn't determine the gender of the baby.. and Nicole had already told the ultrasound technician that we did not want to know. Therefore, the gender remains a mystery. Amelia is convinced that the baby is a boy (whenever we ask her, "boy or girl?" .. "girl or boy?".. she makes the sign for "boy," which looks like tipping the brim of a baseball cap).

We have also not yet decided on any baby names, though if tradition holds true we won't decide until the last minute anyway so we choose not to share in case we change our minds.

So, ultimately, we have no news to share with you, except that the baby is healthy and squirmy and growing right on target. Nicole is feeling well, craving watermelon, and cursing the unstylish selection of "tent-like" pregnancy clothes.

Until next time,
Issac

Happy (belated) Earth Day!

Though our plans to plant the garden on Earth Day were foiled by snowy weather (see photo below),

9 inches of snow in April = Springtime Snowman!

We did manage to spent today almost entirely outside planting our gardens, tending to the yard, listening to the birds chirp, and Amelia&Dad's first big bike ride of the year.

It took mom a little longer than normal to do her planting, she says that she was "enjoying the beautiful day" but I think maybe my baby brother or sister is tiring her out a bit.

My swimming lessons are going well, I am not afraid of the water and love all of the water games. I need to work on blowing bubbles and doing the back-float before I can move into the next class called, "Sunfish."

Mom&Dad are excited to see the baby again this week at their appointment. I think it will be boring, so I'm going to stay home and play with Auntie Lisa, which sounds like WAY more fun!!

Prelude to Swimming Lessons

Tomorrow Amelia registers for her first swimming lesson class, so the fact that she spent last weekend LOVING the water in Wisconsin Dells is promising for us. She will be the YMCA's newest "Goldfish" and is hoping for a nice, warm pool (oh wait.. that's mom's hope!)
