Love thy neighbor..

Amelia and her favorite neighbor playmate, Miss Natalie, spent a wonderful morning with Lisa and me today, baking and tending to the sprouting seedlings.

We must be very careful with the baby plants!

Measuring and scooping and stirring, Oh my!

Boy? Girl? It's anyone's guess..

As most of you know, I kind of think ultrasound pictures are creepy - but I was persuaded to share just one. Consider yourselves lucky, this photo is not even on Facebook, this blog has the exclusive story.

Baby Olson #2 is doing well and scheduled for an approximate arrival on September 21st.
Two arms.. two legs.. two hands and two feet!

Amelia hasn't the slightest idea what is going on, however the ultrasound lady gave her a sticker and the receptionist humored her "peek-a-boo" so she had a nice day either way.

Heart rate: 158 at 14 weeks. No morning sickness. No heartburn. No crazy cravings.
Any guesses?? The official gender guess poll starts today..

Our (read: MY) thought for now is that we will be waiting until September to find out whether he/she is a he/she; however Issac still has five weeks to try and persuade me otherwise. He tells me that he's going to spend the next month "learning how to read an ultrasound on the internet" so that he can find out for himself.

So, what do you think? Boy?? Girl??

East Coast Travels, March 2011

Attached is a link to a photoshow from our trip to Washington D.C. last week.
We thought Uncle Bill and Grandpa would enjoy the plaque on the endangered black squirrels (wink, wink)

Highlights - Amelia had her first (and second.. and third) taste of seafood; we all saw our first live panda bear; we stumbled into John Kerry near the Capitol building; saw Abraham Lincoln's top hat, Dorothy's ruby slippers and Julia Child's kitchen; daily trysts with frozen yogurt; and we all reveled in the springtime weather by putting on our walking shoes and trekking all over town.

We had a great time, though the beginning of the week was tough for Amelia to adjust to the time change AND daylight savings time AND a new environment, by the end of the week she was walking all over the hotel, waving at everyone she passed. We arrived back in Wisconsin to some cold and rainy weather -- but no snow! Therefore, Amelia decided today was the perfect day to break out her spring rain boots and trenchcoat for our trip to the market.

Happy Spring, and Go Marquette!!

February: The Month of the Pirate Smile

Amelia has adopted a new grin.. er.. 'pirate smile.'

And last weekend we had a wonderful visit from our friends the Haavens and their adorable little people. Amelia had fun looking pointing out Baby Blake's toes and learning all about toddlerhood from Miss Brynn!

Sir Blake, 7 weeks young.

Very proud big sister Brynn!

"Peek-a-boo, baby!" -Amelia
Another pirate smile.

"Oh my, it's getting late!"

Teamwork!

"Having friends over is fun, but it is sure exhausting!" -Amelia
